SCREAM, QUEEN!

MY NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET

(Buffalo Premiere) Scream Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street sets the records straight about the controversial sequel to A Nightmare on Elm Street, which ended Mark Patton’s acting career, just as it was about to begin. Scream Queen follows Patton as he travels to horror conventions across the U.S.
Each new city unwraps a chapter from his life that is met with equal parts joyful and bittersweet detail, as he attempts to make peace with his past and embrace his legacy as cinema’s first male “scream queen.” Scream Queen also finds Patton confronting Freddy’s Revenge cast and crew for the first time, including co-stars Robert Rusler, Kim Myers and Clu Gulager, as well as Freddy Krueger himself, Robert Englund.

NEW RESTORATION!

(New 4K Restoration from the George Eastman Museum) "Before THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, there was THE LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK. Shot guerrilla-style in the wilds of Arkansas by the late Charles Pierce (THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN), this midnight mood-setter proves that imagination and mystery are all your senses need to achieve total creepizoid overload. And our hearts fill with joy, as we experience a snapshot of influential horror film-making that will never exist again." -Joseph A. Ziemba/Drafthouse

we stand corrected:

dannemora

buffalo premiere

WE STAND CORRECTED- DANNEMORA

We Stand Corrected: Dannemora is an alternative narrative to Ben Stiller’s Showtime limited series, Escape at Dannemora. The film pulls the curtain back on the intricacies of the prison system, the dynamics between officers and inmates and the aftermath of the largest manhunt in New York state history.

Richie Elson, the film's director, grew up just outside Dannemora and his dad was a Corrections Officer at Clinton for 15 years. Having that part of New York - which is very rural, small and despite housing 3,000 of the state's worst criminals, very quiet - be in the national spotlight was surreal. When he saw how it was affecting his dad and others, who didn't feel like they had the proper platform to tell their side of the story, Richie knew he had to. Because of his ties to the community, we were granted access to officers, law enforcement, and community leaders who refused to address other media.

DARK STAR (JOHN CARPENTER)

DARK STAR (1974) John Carpenter (Halloween)

The film originally began as a 45-minute U.S.C. student film project by Carpenter and Dan O'Bannon (Alien) that was eventually expanded into a feature length production.

The story takes place on the deep-space cruiser Dark Star, where a crew of laid-back astronauts are assigned the task of blowing up planets with unsuitable life forms in order to make the universe safe for the human race.
